Flooding rice fields consumes up to 1/3 of the earth's annual freshwater supplies. Our producers use System of Rice Intensification (SRI) practices, which require a lot less water and seeds to product more crop per drop. And drained fields emit little or no methane. We're taking rice production beyond organic!
Combine 1 1/2 cups of water, 1 cup rice and a pinch of salt. Bring to a boil over high heat. Cover, reduce heat and simmer for 20 minutes. Remove from heat. Let stand covered for a few minutes. Fluff and serve.
A rice cooker may be used with the same water-to-rice ratio.
1 cup raw rice yields 3 cups cooked rice
