What are Steel Cut Oats?
Country Choice Organic Steel Cut Oats are a hearty way to start your day. We take the whole oat kernel and simply cut it into small pieces, creating an oatmeal with a distinctive chewy texture. Steel Cut Oats are often called Irish or Scottish Oats owing to the traditional use in those countries. Our whole grain version has a taste the whole family will love.
*3 grams of soluble fiber from oatmeal daily in a diet low in saturated fat and cholesterol may reduce the risk of heart disease. This product has 2 grams per serving.

Cooking Directions:
Traditional Irish Oatmeal
(Makes 4 servings)
4 cups water
1 cup Organic Steel Cut Oats
- Bring water to a boil.
- Slowly stir in the steel cut oats.
- When oatmeal begins to thicken (about 5 minutes), reduce heat. Simmer uncovered for about 30 minutes (or desired consistency) stirring occasionally.
Note: Steel Cuts Oats are best prepared on the stove top.
Microwaving steel cut oats is not recommended.
Serving Suggestions:
- Serve with milk, cream or a pat of butter.
- Add honey, maple syrup, molasses or brown sugar to sweeten.
- For an added treat add dried fruit, raisins, nuts or a pinch of cinnamon.
