If you choose to introduce formula and have a family history of allergy, feeding a formula exclusively made with 100% whey partially hydrolyzed, like Good Start Protect formula, during the first 4 months of life may reduce the risk of atopic dermatitis* throughout the 1st year, compared to formulas made with intact cow's milk protein. The scientific evidence for this is limited and not all babies will benefit.

*the most common allergy in infancy.

Good Start Protect formula should not be fed to infants who are allergic to milk or infants with existing milk allergy symptoms. Not for allergy treatment.

Good to remember

Good Start Protect formula has immune-supporting probiotics, Bifidus BL†, similar to those found in breastmilk. These probiotics are shown to increase levels of key antibodies for advance immune support.

†Provides the live and active probiotic cultures Bifidobacterium lactis. Bifidobacteria are the most abundant type of culture found in the digestive system of breastfed babies.

Makes approximately 90 fl oz (2.8 qt) of formula.

Directions for Preparation and Use:

Always wash your hands and utensils before preparing formula.

Step 1

Pour desired amount of water into bottle. See chart.

Step 2

Add 1 unpacked level scoop (8.7 g) of powder for each 2 fl oz water. (Only use enclosed scoop. Separate it from frame.)

Step 3

Cap bottle; shake well. Feed baby immediately or refrigerate and use bottle within 24 hours. Once feeding begins, use within 1 hour or discard.

Your baby's health depends on carefully following the preparation, use, and storage instructions. Ask your baby's doctor about infant formula feeding including how much to feed and the need to sterilize (boil) water and preparation utensils before mixing formula. Powdered infant formulas are not sterile and should not be fed to premature infants or infants who may have immune problems unless directed and supervised by your baby's doctor.

*Good Start is a routine formula brand. If you suspect your baby is allergic to milk, use only under a doctor's supervision. When switching formula, a gradual transition is best.

Some settling may occur in shipping.

Do not use microwave to warm formula. Serious burns may result.

Storage: Tightly cover open can and use within 1 month. Store open and unopened cans in a cool, dry place. Avoid extreme storage temperatures.

Warming formula above, or using water warmer than 100°F (40°C), will compromise the benefits of the Bifidus BL cultures.
